Rock on!

Do you have a paragraph of stock promo text we can use to promote it?

Sure! Actually, use whatever you like:

Kobold Quarterly is the scrappy little magazine of Open Design, a tiny journal that covers the world's premiere roleplaying game from the gamer's perspective.

The second issue includes articles by Ed Greenwood, Nicolas Logue, Skip Williams, Wolfgang Baur, and Jeff Grubb, among others. It features full-color art by fantasy artists new and familiar.

Kobold Quarterly gives you player options, the finest design techniques, great interviews, cartoons, and tested tactical crunch.
  • The Ecology of the Barghest
  • An Assassin core class
  • A preview of Empire of the Ghouls
  • An interview with artist Wayne Reynolds
  • Alternate class abilities for Paladins
  • And more!

Got it and it looks great. I'll see about getting it reviewed on an upcoming episode of The Digital Front Podcast at www.thedigitalfront.com.

Oh man, KQ#2 is fantastic. I thought #1 was good, but in just one issue the level of quality jumped dramatically.

This mag is a bargain at any price. Awesome stuff.

Thanks!

Please tell your friends, blog about it, or kick it around the messageboards. Kobolds need friend to survive.

Yeah, I definitely agree -- issue 2 is heads and shoulders above issue 1, which itself was pretty darned good. I like this trajectory.

My only quibble with issue 2 is with the stat blocks -- I really like having that horizontal dividing bar between distinct sections of the stat block. I think it makes it much easier to process visually.

But then again, I am not right in the head when it comes to stat blocks.

I actually had a problem. I got the email stating Attached please find your second issue of Kobold Quarterly, but there was no attachment to the email . . . :(

I'm looking forward to getting issue #2 . . . eventually . . . :)

I got an email like that but I also got one with the magazine attached! I've had a look through and it looks great. I've printed out the articles to read on the plane later today and have put a little plug for you on my LJ.

I had the same thing happen to me . . . but then I found a second copy of the email, with an attachment, in the spam folder of my Yahoo Mail account.

Yeah, it wound up in spam folders, which makes it tough to send a replacement (because that winds up in the spam folder as well).

I sent out replacements last night. If you don't have it today, let me know by email and we'll go to plan B.

Re: Hard Copy
Glad you like it! I'm hoping it draws a lot of attention.

The hard copy is on press/proofs, so I don't expect the mailing to go out before Saturday.

You probably won't see it before Friday the 12th, and that's only if you are in the US, near Kirkland.

I'm probably stupid but I can't remember if I paid for a pdf and hard copy subscription. Is such a thing possible? If it is I am sure I did just that....

Could I be any more spacey?

Friday the 12th still good for the hard copy in the mail?

Cheers

Uh... I sure hope not. Some people bought a PDF sub, and then paid to upgrade that to a paper+PDF. Is that what you mean?

If you can give me the dates you bought them, I can confirm and refund one.

I meant to ask if I was a pdf+paper subscriber or if I had just imagined that I was. I recieved my paper copy of issue 1.

I don't remember the dates precisely but I am pretty sure that I subbed to both.

When should I expect the hard copy to show up in my mailbox? I am about to leave the state for a week or so.

Cheers

Ah! You are a subscriber to both.

The print copies will go into the mail no later than Monday. Depending on where you live, I'd expect it by the middle of next week.
