Arabian Status and 2nd Poll Results

  • Oct. 3rd, 2007 at 11:26 AM
Golden Sun & Star
The commission for the Arabian project is about 5/6 funded. I fully expect we'll reach it by the 15th.

In addition, the second poll has chosen the another of the topics for the Arabian Nights. The second adventure will be "The Sand Pirates", originally pitched by [info]valmiras and incorporating refinements from a number of patrons. I'm really looking forward to this one, as it will feature lots of heroic action and mayhem.

The field included 15 strong candidates; of those, six survive to fight it out for the next slot. The survivors are:
  • The Buried Tower
  • Cult of the Howling God
  • Chasing the Harem Thief
  • The Haunted Caravanserai
  • The Red Oracle
  • The Sailing Turtle

If you are a patron with an idea to throw into the arena for the next round, please let me know by email. If you are not a patron yet, what are you waiting for?Alas, you waited too long, effendi! Now only the patrons of Blood of the Gorgon may acquire this rare treasure!

1) I'll be making a contribution in early November, if not before. Probably at the same status as last time.

2) Since you're covering an Arabian theme ...and since I live in Arabia (in real life), we might have to speak about artwork/photos/ect for the project.

3) I could actually provide you with some pretty amazing background information, as well. If you're looking for names, descriptions, ect that are closer to real life.

;)

What are the plans for shutting this one down to patrons? IF you are planning on cutting it off the 15th like Ghouls than it would be easier to get the word out ("get in now before it's too late).

Nah.... Less is More
Oddly enough, one of the goals this time is to have a *smaller* group of patrons, so I'm not all that eager to get the word out.

I think shutting people out after the 15th is likely, or I might just drop the $25 level at that point. People who *really* want in could still join, but things are easier if there's no rush at the last minute.

Worst case, I extend things to November 1, depending.

Hi there - I'm interested in being a patron for this project as well, but I'm ashamed to admit that I can't remember how to pay... I know it's through paypal, but is there a link I need to follow to make sure I'm sending the money to you? Any help would be appreciated!

Sure, the easiest way is at the Free City site, on the Open Design page. I shoulda put a link in...

Wolfgang, if it's not too much trouble, can you link the six survivors to their descriptions? I can't remember what some of them are, and digging through all the previous entries is somewhat daunting.

(Also, I think linking should be done on the polls in the future, so people can make informed choices instead of relying on their vague recollection based on titles.)

They're all listed in the poll, but I'll compile and kick them out soon.

The LJ poll tech does not support linking a poll choice directly. Sorry, not something I can fix. But since the poll and the descriptions are both part of the same post....
