Last Week for Arabian Nights

Open Design Logo 2
The goal for the Arabian Nights project is to have something in hand for patrons in mid-to-late January. To get there, the commission needs to be met on or before October 15th, which is fast approaching.

Current status is pretty good, but there's still a definite gap between 80% there and 100% there. If you have considered supporting this one, now's a great time to jump on board. The first design essays have already been posted, and the strongest adventure ideas are battling it out. Sign up today and see how six playable, portable adventures are put together. UPDATE: The project is done! Thanks to those who supported this commission.

Do I need to organize a telethon?

I would dearly love a telethon: can you get Gary or Ed or Keith or Monte to host? :)

Actually, I think we just need a small push to some of the boards. Maybe ENWorld, or the Wizards boards, or RPGnet. Or an Al-Qadim board, of course.

As much as I loved participating in the Ghouls project, and found Kobold Quarterly #2 as good as an average dragon magazine (with plenty of crunch for ME), I have no use for Arabian Nights anything, even if it was 100% crunch. Don't like it, don't play it, don't run it and don't ever go there. Sorry! Looking forward to NEXT potential project and probably will soone be renewing my KQ subscription when you offer.

I'm very much in the same boat in that I really don't care for the theme or material (I wasn't into Ghouls either). But I really want to support Wolfgang and OD, hoping that next project will be something I really love. Maybe you can support the project with the smallest contribution. The way I see it, I want Wolfgang to keep doing this, and I end up with a very limited and special product at the end.

No worries, the Dark Arabia project is a short one, and I'd rather people just sign up for the ones they want.

The word on OD5 will go out in early 2005, and may be more to your taste.

Shameful the way I've kept people waiting, isn't it? ;)

I've been remiss in keeping myelf updated. Seems like I missed the vote for the new project :-(

What is the Arabian Nights anthology about?

Thanks.

Yeah, the results were crushingly in favor of Arabian Nights. The anthology contains 6 adventures: One by Jeff Grubb, 2 by me, 2 by patrons I'm collaborating with, and one by a famous designer who will be named later.

The titles are Blood Oasis, Cult of the Howling God, the Sand Pirates, The Gravebinder's Daughter, Wishbound, and one to be named later.

It's shaping up to be a very strong set of quite different adventures, leaning toward the Dark Arabia style but not exclusively.

Maybe I should do an email list for some of the polls and updates. Just once a month, to remind folks if things drop off their radar for a while.

oops!
It occurred to me that I haven't been seeing any information about the Arabian Nights project. And now I have discovered why: I forgot to sign up for it!

I see there is still a donation button. Let's see if I can sneak in before the end...

Re: oops!
Sneaking into the tent just at the last moment, eh? There's still room.
