Green light
The commission has been met, and the Arabian Nights project is moving ahead. Thank you to everyone who donated.

Design starts tonight, with quick outlines (these are miniadventures, after all) and then text.

One of the adventures will be written by Jeff Grubb, the author of Arabian Adventures! The working title for his piece is "Blood Oasis". More to come.

I just realized I didn't mention this to the members of the [info]al_qadim comm. Are patrons still being accepted?

Yes, patrons are still being accepted through the end of day today at the standard rate. I promised no change there until the 15th.

Tomorrow, I'll either close it entirely or raise the minimum donation sharply, to keep the project size small.

As an alternative to having input, but still allowing more patrons, you could put in a "spectator" level available after start but before publication that permits polling but not senior access?

Excellent. I've let them know.

I'm sorry I won't be part of this, but as I'm running a Ptolus campaign, I simply don't have any use for an Arabian adventure - and with money being tight, I can't even support it for The Cause.

But I hope to still get a notice when the next project rolls round.

No worries, this one was meant to appeal to a smaller group of patrons, and I think it's good for folks to skip topics that don't interest them. I've noticed that some patrons who were not interested in Ghouls have returned for Arabian, for instance.

The next project will start in January 2008. I'll let people know about it with public posts here, ENWorld, and the like, plus a note in the next issue of KQ.

Did you take a decision regarding patronage after the 15th?

There haven't been any, so I've been spared the necessity of making a decision.

However, looking at the way patrons are asking for more material, more art, and more enhancements, it seems smart to keep allowing patrons, though at a higher price than the early birds.

I'll set up a $40 button soon, or folks can PayPal that amount as needed. Pricey for a short project, but ... patrons have had quite a while to join in.
