Just a heads-up for friends and patrons in the Seattle area: I'll be running a D&D table at the Emerald City Gamefest, probably a City of Zobeck miniadventure. If you are interested in attending, the Gamefest will be held November 17 at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park, Washington, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. The event is free; no entry fee, no table fee, no cost to you.

I hope to see some of you there!

How do we claim a chair at the table?

Shall we bring PCs, or will you be supplying those?

I don't think it's organized to require event tickets or the like; it's a small, small con. So, I'll take names here for patrons and folks who are interested.

If I get less than 6 at the table, I'll recruit someone at the show.

We have different flyers and advertisments around, and we'll be handing out badges to gauge attendance and make sure that people who came to the area specific for the event don't lose seats to passer-bys (although we love those too), but there are no tickets. We ended up not requiring pre-registration for the events, so if Wolfgang want to fill seats beforehand, that's fine.

Wolfgang was completely accurate when he said it's a small, small con. We're expecting around 100-115 people, and this time around we only have one timeslot. We're still finding our niche.

I have to admit that the small size has huge appeal for me. Cons like GenCon or PAX feel like work. Smaller shows are more about having fun for me.

Agrees...this is the first time I have regretted living in Texas.

Arrgggg!!!! I love Third Place. I used to live about a mile and a half from there (in Bothel) and would go there at least once a week. Sometimes there are tradeoffs for living in Italy and getting to go to castles and other cool stuff (heh, not really, but it'd still be cool to get to be there).

Nice to know that not *all* the cool things are in Slovenia and Italy. :D

Maybe eventually I'll work up to attending Spiel or GC Europe again.

Hrm. A handful of miles, free, and I think my afternoon might actually be open that day.

*adds to calender*

Mini-Zobeck, huh? ;) I'd probably be disqualified!

As a founding member of the Zobeck gang, I think you automagically qualify for a seat if you want it, though hey, the con is also a golden opportunity to see other RPGs and board games.

Let me know if you want the seat for sure. Would be great to see you there!

I should allow others the opportunity to play in your excellent setting, and I can be adventurous and meet new people games. (Although I definitely will stop by and say hello.)

Hey, we're looking forward to having you there! If people are interested, they can see what's going on via our Website. Wolfgang, is it OK if we start listing your game in our events section?

Absolutely. Call it "One Night in Zobeck", please, for 6 D&D players.

Pregen characters will be provided.

Thank you very much! Your game is now posted in the list of events, and there's a news item on the front page.

Very nice! Though technically, the current project is called "Six Arabian Nights", and is described at http://wolfgangbaur.com/projects/opendesign4.aspx

I live just a little ways from Third Place, and go there frequently. Good books and good food, it's hard to beat that!

Wolfgang, if you still need another player, count me in. If not, I'll enjoy as a spectator. :)

Darn! I remembered that I'm taking my family to Disney on Ice that day, and wouldn't make it back to Third Place until about 2:00. I suppose that opens up a slot for another player.

Well, watching princesses skate around is sorta like D&D, right? There'll be dwarves, witches, fey, intelligent animals, and polymorphed creatures. Heck, I'll even get some Arabic flavor (as I "discover a whole new world with Jasmine"). Yeah, it'll be just like playing a game of D&D!

If there are fireballs and critical hits, you might not be getting what your family expects. :)

Sorry we can't game then, maybe next time. I'm hoping this con will grow into a nice-sized local con.

I'm jealous of whoever gets to be at the game table!

Wave to me up north when you're there, and have a blast for me, will you? :)
