varianor reminds me that it might be worthwhile to ask if anyone wants to commission a project as a single patron. That's 64 pages of adventure or sourcebook text customized to a single patron's outline, at the bargain price of $3K. If you are interested in that commission, let me know before November 30th. I've always assumed that a single patron is unlikely to step forward, but then, I've never asked. Might be an interesting project, but I suspect that the days of Renaissance princes funding works for their private libraries are long gone. I'd love to be proven wrong.
For the rest of the world, the current Arabian Nights project is looking for a handful of patrons, so we can commission one more killer piece of art. The design work is well underway, and the final book will be at least 32 pages long, with six complete adventures.
In totally unrelated news, the last design essay for the
Empire of the Ghouls patrons is now available for patrons. I'm probably going to compile those with the prior design essays at some point.

Other then that, I can't wait for the Arabian Nights kick off! woot!
And yes, a picture of the single patron in hose and codpiece (or skirts and corset, as appropriate) may become a requirement for me to take on a Serious Major Patrons.
Just to confirm their sense of humor. :)
Sadly, short of winning the lotto, or finding out I have a long lost rich uncle, my dreams will not be realized.
Out of curiosity, how would that work? As far as OGL go, I mean... would you still have to maintain the SRD only policy? Would you be able to go into specific worlds? etc?
Another question... the $3000, would that include maps and artwork? or is that for words only?
Anyway, thanks for the asking... and I hope that someone is able to do so. But sadly it won't be me any time soon. :(

::sigh::
what nice dreams....

As far as OGL, it wouldn't matter. As an entirely private commission, I could use all the WotC materials, no SRD, etc. I wouldn't be publishing anything, just creating a single copy for you. So, anything goes.
The price is for text. I suspect that a patron at that level might want pretty ritzy art and graphics (think Christopher West maps, art by Brom and Lockwood, etc), which naturally is not cheap. I'll sort out how to get the right style of maps and art when that patron arrives. Until then, it's mostly just idle speculation.
I can *refuse* a commission, you know. :)

If you want a copy, you are certainly welcome to support it. Or if you prefer to start from the ground up, the next project will be announced later this month. Your call!
