Looks like the fundraising has overshot the target a little. No further donations will be accepted, and due to the an excess I'll be refunding the last to arrive.
I want to say a huge thank-you to everyone who pledged their support! I'm kind of overwhelmed by the speed and strength of the response, and I appreciate all the donations, large and small. It was a bit of a wild ride.
The next step is reviewing the license. I'll be doing that as soon as it's in hand from WotC. You can expect no further 4E comments here, though, due to the NDA requirements. I will be communicate the results with the License donors once we've got NDAs all around.

No matter - Looking forward to the future of OD and 4E and the next OD project.
Thanks!

who's curious but still dubious as well
I would say go for the Kobold subscription or the PDF subscription.
I'm still amazed, and humbled, at how quickly this came together.
I'm amazed at how quickly this all came together.
I would have joined in, like I had in previous fundings, but things got a little tight here and will be until I hit my stride with the new job.
Anyhow, Wolfgang and others, best of luck with the 4e stuff. :D
June will be here sooner than you think, and I'm sure some of the Open Design "early adopter" crowd will share their take on the edition as soon as it releases. And some design tricks will surely spill over to future Open Design projects regardless.
I'm hoping the first thing outta the gate is a print book on the city with a player's supplement quickly to follow. A good strong setting would be a great start for 4e.
I am so disappointed that this is the first OD I didn't contribute to. :( I had planned on donating today. :(
But if I understand the purpose of this correctly, what ever comes of *THIS* project will be the first ever PUBLIC OD product? So I'll still be able to purchase it?
Will the purchase of the 4E license mean that there will not be another OD project? OD5?
Keith
The final result of the license will be a public Open Design release, so yes, you will be able to purchase it sometime after August 1 (according to the terms of the license).
Ah, well. Congratulations Wolfgang.
On the plus side I bought a Kobold sub, so I have something to read at work today when there aren't and crises to manage.
