It's Superbowl Sunday, so I will naturally have an appearance today at 3:30 at Wordsmith Hall in Second Life. It's essentially a chat forum about writing and game design, and anyone can attend online.

What is Second Life?
Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely created by its residents. One of those residents is Michael A. Stackpole. He hosts writing groups and other events at ThirdLife Books and Wordsmith Hall.

What is ThirdLife Books?
ThirdLifeBooks is the hub of a community of like-minded individual interested increativity and exploring their full potential across a variety of mediaand areas of interest. It's a home for readers of fantastic fiction, for writers both beginning and accomplished, gamers, podcasters and anyone else who enjoys intellectual stimulation, is curious and just enjoys hanging out with a lively group of their peers. ThirdLife offers classes, writers' groups, contests, meet the author events, and other reasons to get together.

How to attend.
If you would like to attend this event, sign up for a free account at Second Life, then download and install the SL software on your computer. Once you have an account, fire up the software and click on this link, and you will be taken to the castle.

Everyone attending this event will have the opportunity to join the Second Life Kobold Army, and receive a special (FREE) t-shirt only available during the event.

That was fun, erratic connections not withstanding. I also got a transcript from one of the attendees to fill in the gaps.

I was wondering what happened, when you kept popping in and out... :)

Ooh, is that going to be up on the web? I wanted to attend, but wasn't willing to risk more software on my PC.

If Wolfgang would like the transcript to post, I'd be more than happy to give it to him. If he'd rather not, I'd be happy to give it individuals.

Send it to me; I'd be happy to post here or at KQ.com.

Aw man!!!!!
A chance at a free t-shirt and I missed it!

Would it be worth while to do this even if Wolfgang isn't holding an event now?

Aw man!!! Part II
I too, regret not being able to make it.

Love to see this event come by again.. I have no excuse because i saw it on the Free City boards, but I think it might help if the notice was cross pollinated between the LJ, KQ, and Free City sites earlier. Wolfgang news is sort of spread out, I wouldn't mind seeing some consolidation.

Re: Aw man!!! Part II
It might come by again, you never know.

I agree that the LJ and KQ and Free City do spread things out a bit. Ultimately I'd like to consolidate into two, but that requires having better archives and feeds. I think you'll see something along these lines soon.

I don“t know if this is just me, but LiveJournal and WolfgangBaur.com load awefully slow.

A data point for future decisions.

Paid Subscriber
Interesting.. as a paid LJ subscriber, you're supposed to be on a more dedicated (ergo faster loading) server. That's one of the subscriber benefits.

I'm not saying you're not on a dedicated server, it might be just on a really full and active one, but it might be worth notifying LJ customer service / tech support.
