The first note about Kobold Quarterly #4 has appeared in the wider press at WIRED. The blurb appears in the GeekDad blogs, and it made me cackle with glee.
This review, allow me to quote it to you:
"The sole remaining professional roleplaying game magazine, Kobold Quarterly became number one by beheading all of its competitors in spectacular urban swordfights."
I can't top that, though I am tempted to get it tattooed on my forehead.
If you don't subscribe (and it's just $16!), whyever not?

It would be a fun story to tell the wee one when she gets old enough to understand... :)
I'll let you slide on this one. $100K is a too achievable goal. ;)
Remind me to talk to you again when I need to do fundraising to keep KQ expanding and/or I need to offer a Super-Mega-PowerUp Freebie to subscribers. I suck at fundraising, most of the time.

As I see it, the Kobold arose from the ashes of the ancient Dragon starting off anew, but with the genes of its ancestor.
OR
The Kobold wandered upon the carcass of the dead Dragon and took its stuff. After acquiring the loot, the spirit of the ancient Dragon imbued the Kobold with guidance and ideals that would steer it away from the Dragon's final fate.
Which just makes the quote that much funnier. It definitely has Draconic genes, and is following the draconic traditions.
I was sorry to see the Dragon die, but more than happy to see the Kobold rise up and take what it can...although, I would like to see a little more persnikkity trapping along the way...
*or rather, the voices that come after I eat those mushrooms told me to tell you.
