Commissions and Kickoffs

The two projects currently up for patron support are both chugging along, with Tales of Zobeck having a small but not insurmountable lead toward an actual green light, go-sign, kickoff status.

And as usual, I can't resist jumping the design gun a little bit. The outline for the Tales of Zobeck source material has gone to the patrons, and both the senior patrons and writers like Richard Pett, Tim Connors, Jeff Grubb, and others are sharpening up pitches for the Tales anthology. I've got about a dozen already, and only the best will go on to be designed for the project. The patrons will see those and start judging them this weekend — and so can you, if you sign up today.

For Wrath of the River King, the project outline is available to patrons, and there's some discussion as well about level and Shadowfell. The early discussions often set the tone for where an adventure is headed. If you'd like an adventure that's more than just a set of 4E training wheels, and that tries to do something more challenging for experienced players, this is your project. Please donate and sign up today!

I can't wait to see the pitches! I've been sort of looking forward to that all week!

Confused..you may be..
This process always confuses me - Wolfgang, am I a patron or a senior patron? How do I find out?

Re: Confused..you may be..
Confusing patrons is my main goal, really. :)

No, seriously, the regular memberships are $25 for Tales and $30 for Wrath of the River King. The senior patron donations start around $75 and go up to $150 or $200.

Re: Confused..you may be..
Yup, and gee!
I believe I paid $75, but my bad I cant work out whether I am a senior patron or not, or whether I should be involved in any Zobeck planning.

Technically I think I should be in at he beginning but I am confused.

(hey! This is my fault and not anyone elses!!)

Re: Confused..you may be..
You have access to the senior patron posts, for instance the one about how and where to send a pitch if you want to write one of the Tales of Zobeck.

That would be the link where I stated that my lack of knowledge meant that I would allow others to discuss and then I would engage.D'oh! D'oh! D'oh!

Re: I can't see Wrath
Uh, I dunno what to tell you. The Open Design LJ has you set up for access to the Wrath project.

Are you looking for the outline here or on the KQ forums?

Now I'm the one who is confused...

Re: I can't see Wrath
This probably means that he doesn't have patron access. LJ shows posts on Calendar and tags even if access is limited to a smaller class of readers/members.

That's probably it, Varianor. No need to be confuzzled Wolfgang.

Oh man, I didn't know Pett, Grubb, Connors AND Baur were submitting pitches - tough competition indeed.

Now I *really* can't wait to see what everyone has cooked up.

That's so awesome...

Re: That's so awesome...
You want to play in the big leagues, you gotta bring your best game.

There's a real range of styles and talents on display in the pitches so far. Maybe I'll go all meta on them after the voting is done, or pull an RPG Superstar recommendation on them. Hm.

Right on. You don't get better by staying in the kiddie pool.

Re: That's so awesome...
Yup.

It only further proves the worth of the OD project as a whole.

Patrons can test their mettle with the big boys in the industry and see how they stack up. Where else do you get that kind of an opportunity?

Looking forward to the commentary, and Wolfgang I hope you do offer some critiques of the entries.

No outline!
Hey Wolfgang -

I'm signed up as a patron of Zobeck (I'm pretty sure), but I don't have access to the outline? Is something wrong on my end?

Re: No outline!
Apparently I had you set up as "david_ei". I've removed that handle and added yours.

You should be all set.

Re: No outline!
Thanks, I think that it was my fault. My LJ account expired and I tried to log in again, except I must have just created a new account with the name "davidei" rather than renewing my account under the handle "david_ei". Sorry for the confusion Wolfgang.

Stupid Question (?)
This might sound stupid or I missed something...

Wolfgang, what do you mean by ''The outline for the Tales of Zobeck source material has gone to patrons...''??

Am I missing something?
Am I signed on properly?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Stupid Question (?)
Not a stupid question; in the initial rush, may not have set the permissions right....

::bang bang clatter ding::

Ok, permissions are reset. My apologies for the delay, you'll see the outline and a few posts for Zobeck have crept onto the site before the commission is met.

On Friday we'll have the pitches to discuss, and voting on those starts next week.

As usual, you are The Man!
Considering you are a one-man operation OD is great! Quality and customer service-wise.
Thank you.
