A Kobold Birthday

Yes, despite various life-threatening adventures, Kobold Quarterly has reached its first anniversary with the release of issue #5!

This issue is a great one (though I may be biased), because it includes:

  • An Exclusive 4th Edition Interview: We asked the designers of the 4th Edition Player’s Handbook for D&D a few pointed questions—and gotten the inside scoop! Andy Collins, James Wyatt, and Rob Heinsoo offer wisdom, wit, and some suggestions for character conversion from 3rd Edition.
  • A truly creepy Ecology of the Homunculus
  • improving your improvisation skills from Nicolas Logue, and
  • the Arch-Devil Jezebel by Paizo’s master of the diabolical, James Jacobs!

Give it a look, won't you? You can pick up a copy from Koboldquarterly.com.

Or you could just subscribe, because there is a year full of adventure ahead.

How much hair do you have left?
Time for a monthly mag! ;)

All ribbing aside... I think it's an awesome milestone... I can't wait to see KQ widely distributed in all the Brick 'n Mortars and Mom 'n Pops.

Re: How much hair do you have left?
The next hombre who says "monthly" around here is a-gonna be spittin' teeth. :)

Hair, yeah, I used to have that. We're working on the brick-and-mortars, but it's slow. Tell your FLGS that Alliance carries KQ!

Re: Be careful what you ask for
All right, I said the next varmit to say monthly was gonna get a punch in the jaw. Step outside, hombre! Ain't no monthly magazine here!

Unless you're a volunteer to be the new eddy-tor?

EEk!
The all seeing and never sleeping eye of the Master Kobold

They say a volunteer is worth a thousand pressed men so hey! I would step up to the plate if it meant that you (Wolfgang) could build on the phenomenal success that is Kobold and (who knows) eventually stand proud, phoenixlike from the remains of the Dragon.

Now I just need to get my jaw put back together!!

A Very Good Year
Congratulations Wolfgang, and all your minion kobolds for a great year, and a great fifth issue!

Oh man. I have to go to sleep. There is however this awesome art by Cris Griffin and the Kobold Ghetto piece that is keeping me up....

Wait. I maybe could even make the Ghetto.

Wow, if you feel like making some narrow streets where the buildings meet overhead and the washing hangs out the windows, with "dog doors" in and out of the houses and ....

Well, it would be awesome.

It would be very tiny though. Very tiny. I have to think about how to do it and maybe try to make one or two structures.

Is that the...?
Does Indy know that the Kobold ganked his tiny golden amazonian figurine? ;)

Looks fantastic! I can't wait for my print copy to arrive! :)

I have decided that YOU are the sort of person I would love to see review KQ5 on RPG.net, Paizo, or DriveThruRPG. Something about your positive attitude strikes me as ideal.

Uh, lessee, it's KQ's birthday, maybe as a present? :)

Will do! Let me read the mag in its entirety so I can give a full glowing review.

So far, so excellent. James Jacobs' article on Jezebel is really good, and the Kobold Ghetto article is shweet.

That whole Ecology article though - ugh. What a hack. :)

Great cover! I've only read the 4e interview so far but that was really cool (and my question was answered). Congratulations on your first birthday!

Great issue! Even though I'm not reading it..

I love the choice of the Homunculus. I like all Ecology articles on principal, but some stand out as really useful as well as interesting. This one is one of those.

Awesome! Happy Birthday!

Ya know, I should have remembered soon, but thanks to Varianor, I re-upped my subscription. :D

Then again, I had a really good excuse for the delay - unemployment is never fun.

Now I'm floating resumes in different states, which is as close to a big first for me in the 12 years I've lived in Boise than any year before.

Anyhow, back on topic, as per usually, I love the magazine, Wolfgang. :D

I reviewed #5 over at rpgbomb, rpgnow requires you buy the product from them before you review it, or I'd do it there, too.
