Thanks to everyone who voted in the straw poll; I'm intrigued that the public results don't actually match the patron votes. The straw poll picked "City-State of Zobeck" as the front-runner, which makes sense given all the spells, monsters, and PC goodies that project offers, plus the worldbuilding essays.

However, "Empire of the Ghouls" is ahead among the patrons who have chosen to fund the work, so I've written a rough copy of that outline and posted it for the patrons to review and comment. If you'd like to offer your critique, please donate to the project today.

Senior Patron of the Arts
This is the inside track, with access to the manuscript, art, maps, and commentary not available with the standard membership. I'd recommend a minimum $60 donation. There is no upper limit.

You gain all the standard privileges listed below, plus:
  • Acknowledgment in the credits
  • Direct access to the project manuscript
  • Access to Q&A sessions about RPG design
  • Ability to suggest design essay topics
  • Review sketches, art, maps, handouts, and other graphic elements

For those donating $100 or more, the following additional perks of patronage:
  • A private game in Seattle
  • An in-person or online review of your own adventures or game designs
  • A prominent listing in the project dedication and credits
  • Suggest a concept: your pitch may become the next Open Design project!

Standard Membership
As a standard member your vote determines which project gets written. You also receive:
  • The complete adventure written with your influence, delivered as a PDF, plus all updates and errata.
  • Access to private posts discussing the design.
  • You influence the design from outline to final form, with polls and comments.
  • Read in-depth design essays on topics chosen by patrons.
  • Acknowledgment in the credits.
  • The adventure will not be sold to the public.

Apprentice Member
This level of donation is intended for students, actively serving members of the military, or gamers who lack the funds for a regular membership. It provides access to the design site and a copy of the completed adventure. Please confirm by joining with your .edu or .mil account if possible; a limited number of apprentice memberships is available.

Hm, maybe. The ghouls outline is posted for folks who have donated to the commission for project 3. If you have donated and haven't gotten a confirmation note, please let me know.

Zobeck outline is being pulled together this weekend, and the Black Prince outline a week or two after that.

Re: $60 patron membership
Hmmmm. That's a little tough to weigh. There's at least three options:

1) You could wait until after the project either meets the commission or doesn't by March 31. This means you miss all the early foundation work that defines the adventure monsters, etc. However, without your contribution, the odds are better that Ghouls won't win.
2) You could make a smaller contribution, and increase it later if you get the project you want. You'd see the early outlines etc, but not the manuscript and senior patrons stuff.
3) I could say, sure, your patronage is contingent, but then I have to offer the same deal to everyone else. At which point, why offer choices at all? I suppose if you didn't get site access until after the commission was met, this might work.
Please email me care of this site (userinfo link at the top of the page) if that's really an option you want to pursue. I'm kind of skeptical.

Can't see the outline either. Logged in and paid patronship but no links to the outline. I can see the zobeck outline, but no ghouls.

Re: outline
Seeing the one outline but not the other is a very useful bit of information. I think I may have a fix that works (essentially deleting your account from access entirely, then rebuilding).

Or at least, it's worked once. I've tried that fix with your account, please let me know if it's working for you now.

Question better asked in the blog. ;)
Can I join OD#3 at the $25 level and upgrade to a senior with another $50 sometime in March? If so, at the point where I've donated $75 dollars, will I have the same rights and responsibilities as other senior patrons? Thanks.

Re: Question better asked in the blog. ;)
Yes and yes! The project needs all the big patrons it can get, and upgrades are fine.

As soon as you hit the $75 mark, you would get full access to the draft manuscript as it is written, plus the inner circle posts, ability to propose concepts for OD#4, and so on.

If I joined as a patron now, would I be able to get access to shadowcrag too, or do you only get access to the current patronaged project?

All patrons can pick up a copy of Shadowcrag (PDF or POD through lulu). Apprentices aren't eligible, though, and there is a cost (slightly more for the lulu version).
